Working & Owning a Businesss In Mount Prospect
There are some 1,300 businesses in the Village – a mosaic of manufacturers and service providers, both long-established and newer enterprises. Many serve local needs, while others are international in their activities. Mount Prospect is a good place to have a business and work, whether you live here or commute.
In addition to providing services and manufacturing products, local businesses and organizations support and sponsor community activities and events, work with schools and contribute to local charities, as well as pay taxes that fund community services. Coming together through the Chamber of Commerce, Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association and other business groups, there is a common commitment to making our community a better place to work and live.
The Chamber has an ongoing advisory role on economic development activities in the Village and assisted downtown merchants and other groups in their formation and activities. Service organizations, like the Rotary, Lions and numerous others, also provide for the needs of many in the community. They support each other, recognizing that all have a common purpose.
Businesses in the Village are also supported by the Chamber’s Business Forum, Sales Network, Professional Women’s Network, and Executive Roundtable groups. The Chamber’s website, www.mountprospectchamber.org, has been designed to be a valuable resource for both residents and businesses, including community information, upcoming special events, “Job Search” and “Hot Deals.
